Kingfisher sighting!

Saw a kingfisher in the Gorge today! Unmistakable flash of blue, beautiful bird!!

Dipping in the gorge

saw a dipper on the river today! well chuffed.

Been busy in the gorge last couple of weeks. Loads of wildlife about as well. Bloody heron has eaten all four of the Muscovy duck chicks, not to happy about that but I suppose it's saved a few brown trout and voles from becoming lunch.

Our lone peregrine chick is now out and about. Not seen much of the parents this year but will hopefully get time to pop up and take a look.

On a side note, got accused of industrial espionage by another local business recently. Apparently I was spying on their product range. You know who you are!!! Who'd have thought that business in the West Country could be so cut throat?!

Peregrine Watching

Enjoyed watching our resident peregrines the other day, amazing birds! The militant RSPB women didn't seem to be very impressed when I said that i needed to go and see to something more important....beer. Humor obviously not required for the role.

Jack The Giant Killer

Apparently we have a host of famous names in Cheddar filming Jack The Giant Killer. Ewan McGregor, Bill Nighy and Ian McShane are supposedly wandering around. They've not been in to buy any beer from me so I'll be boycotting the film until they do. That'll teach 'em.
